Here is why to choose Wild Country

  • Provide the user with freedom while climbing or performing any other activity related to climbing
  • Provide safety. For example, you must have a helmet
  • Wild Country products are a combination of simplicity, reliability, and value

The History of the Wild Country

In 1977, Mark Vallance, a British climber, started Wild Country, a company that manufactures climbing products. Having been a climber himself, he understood a need first hand. His goal was thus to build equipment that come in handy in protecting a creeper, cushion risks, and provide optimal freedom while at it. In fact, it's what it was and still is the Wild Country ethos to utilize people with experience, to build products of high quality and useful in every day's life of a mountaineer.

The brand's first product was so called friends, a climbing gear that was popular among climbers for its convenience and functionality. TheWild Country friends set extended its production to other Wild Country climbing accessories such as carabiners, climbing harnesses, garments, tents, and other high-quality accessories. The company Wild Country has also partnered with other brands but has continually manufactured quality climbing equipment.

What's in the Wild Country Friends Set?

The Wild country friends set is meant to protect you as you climb a rock. Usually, you enter a vertical or horizontal crack depending on the size of the gap and the cam. With the Wild Country friends set you can climb up comfortably without the risk of falling. If, however, you happen to slide off the rock, the friends you’ve hooked in the crack should support and prevent you from injuries. With Wild Country products, you're assured of safety and that you'll just float and grip onto the rock thanks to the secure setting of the cam in a crack.

Yet, all cracks are not of the same size. You'll find wider gaps where a bigger friends set can fit and small where the smallest can do. The collection of friends can be in 4, 6, or more. But, we'd suggest you have the whole Wild Country friends set of cam starting from the smallest, which is 0.4 to the largest. Usually, you'll get a set of three, 1, 2, 3, and other times, you can get a collection ranging from 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1, 2, 3. Whichever set you decide to pick, it should help protect you through mid-sized cracks.
