Silva Expedition Compass
If you need a traditional baseplate compass with high-end features, the Expedition should be your choice. Silva Expedition has an easy-to-use rubber case, silicone rubber feet for precise map work, a removable safety removal strap, luminous markers for night activation, a magnifying glass, a clinometer for measuring tilt angle, map measurement scales in mm or inches and GPS scales of 1:24 000, 1:25 000, 1:40 000 and 1:50 000, plus built-in adjuster for magnetic declination (including permanent local adjustment).
Slope card
The piste map is useful both for identifying avalanche danger and for determining the challenge of your run. If you know the gradient, you can also estimate any additional distance you will have to travel due to the gradient. The avalanche risk increases when the slope is steeper than 30 degrees. The slope map helps you to recognise this risk.
Scale lanyard
This compass model is equipped with a detachable scale lanyard that works like a ruler. The scale lanyard has two scales; 1:25 and 1:50, making it easier to measure the distance of your walk. Because it's soft and pliable, it's easy to place directly on your route on the map when you're busr in the field - or when you're planning your next adventure.
