With 900 lumen brightness at only 100 g, SWIFT RL is the most powerful of the Petzl compact headlamps. With REACTIVE LIGHTING technology, a sensor analyzes the ambient light and automatically adjusts the brightness to user requirements. The headband is reflective for night visibility. It has a two-part construction for excellent stability in dynamic and committing activities such as mountaineering, trail running or skiing. SWIFT RL is intuitive, with a single button for easy control over all lamp functions. Rechargeable, it has a five-level gauge for precise monitoring of the battery charge level.

We previously had three Petzl Artic Cores. They have now held out for 4 years (including a trip around the world, hikes, as a work lamp, walks, ...) without any weaknesses and are only now showing the first signs of damage to the switch (rubber is dissolving & one has a loose contact).
Because of the very good experiences with the Petzl's I bought these. The stronger luminosity and the sensor appealed to me.
Unfortunately, this is exactly the rub.
The sensor is so sensitive that the lamp can only be used for one purpose. Walking alone in nature in total darkness!
During all other activities where even the smallest light source is nearby, the sensor plays disco. Light, dark, light, dark, ... It makes you stupid in the beet ... and I'm really not exaggerating!
As a headlamp on the bike path? Dangerous! Suddenly everything is dark in front of you...
Furthermore, the headband does not fit at all. Much too tight with a hat / the band is much too thin / pinches very quickly / ...
Besides, where's the red light?!
Essential for every hiking lamp (so that you don't disturb other people sleeping when they go to the toilet at night, when reading, etc.!)!
No, I would not recommend them to anyone !!!
