Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, together with Craig Mathews founded the organization '1% for the Planet' in 2002: an international network of companies committed to donating one percent of their annual sales to environmental protection. Since its foundation in 1985, Patagonia has supported various environmental organisations, donating either one percent of their annual turnover or 10 percent of their profit, depending on which amount is greater. By 2019, an impressive $89m had been collected. The aim of this non-profit association is to motivate companies and individuals to make their own contribution to environmental protection.

Patagonia: for the protection of wild fish


The wild fish in our waters are threatened with extinction if we don't finally react and change our behaviour accordingly. Patagonia's 'Artifishal' film shows how humans have managed to endanger wild salmon, whales & co. in their natural habitat and why fish farming and fish farms are not a solution to this problem, but rather a threat.
