Grip 3.8 is with a weight of only 470 g and a pack size of 13 x 26 cm a very light mat with an R-value of 3.6 proving a very good insulation compared to the weight. There are mainly three reasons behind the low weight and size. Foirst the hybrid foam zone construction is designed to support most in areas of heavy body pressure and less in lighter parts reducing both weight and pack size without hurting protection nor comfort. The body shape developed via studies of sleeping patterns cuts off all unnecessary weight, and the new and ultra light 20D Polyester Diamond Rip Stop shell offers a high strength to weight ratio.

The M-PO 30D is a 30 denier ultra light und very strong and durable rip-stop polyester. A silicone surface has been added to increase anti slip function on slippery tent ground floors.

The aim was to reduce the weight of the entire baggage, the "sleeping pad" component was successfully solved with this mat. There are certainly lighter models, but I really like the partially self-inflating one. The underside is also lightly rubberized so that it doesn't slide around or rustle / squeak. There is a little deduction because the waist is sometimes noticeable (when you slide down), but even at temperatures of 0-2 degrees the insulation was absolutely sufficient. Clear recommendation!
