The fourth edition of the MACH 4 takes a giant step forward with designs inspired by the ROCKET X and CARBON X. Designed to unwind miles, this training shoe provides a dynamic run and a powerful feeling underfoot that is unmistakably HOKA. The MACH 4 is softer and more springy than its predecessor, thanks to a harmonious foam mix - with an incomparably soft, lightweight foam on top and a rubberized foam directly underneath. This high-impact shoe features a new heel strap, a redesigned upper made from hot-pressed TPU embroidery threads and an optimized upper shape that reduces pressure on the Achilles tendon. Light, fast and undeniably responsive, the MACH 4 offers a daily dose of speed.

Neutral
The neutral shoe or cushioning shoe is equipped without pronation support (the lateral support of the foot). It is therefore particularly suitable for runners who have a regular rolling behaviour, i.e. who do not bend inwards or outwards when running. The neutral shoe can be used in competitions, fast training or long endurance sessions. The cushioning can vary depending on the intended use. In order to achieve a more direct ground contact in competition, it is advisable to use a slightly damped shoe. In training on hard surfaces or with long units, more cushioned shoes offer better comfort and protect the joints.

This is my first and last Hoka one on, I had read in several reviews that this is one of the best padded shoes and I was just looking for a shoe for daily runs on asphalt and concrete. My experience of mach 4 is that it feels like strapping a few flamingo chargers under your feet and then running. I have long run on the front 1/3 of the foot, with mach 4 I land in the middle of the foot with a slap as from a belly splash from the 5 m rocker.
An absolutely bad experience and a definite mistake.
